Imperial Quilt

Imperial Quilt , made with paper maps of the world, cut into swatches and stitched togther by hand.

The world has been reconfigured, with the Middle East in the centre, surrounded by the continents of Europe, Africa, Australasia and the Americas. Each continent contains one swatch of America, hinting at America's position as an imperial power and its international presence and occupation.
