CREATIVE MAPPING PROJECT at The Institute of International Visual Art (inIVA)
The inIVA Creative Mapping project is a 3-year (2007-10) education, events and multimedia initiative exploring the politics, ethics and aesthetics of map-making through the lens of contemporary artistic practice.
Aims of Schools/Colleges Projects
How can maps change the world? How can maps change us? Form our common world: the earth, to our personal world: ourselves. The inIVA Creative Mapping Project aims to explore the ways that maps and mapping practices provide a window on to the world outside and within us: ourselves, our bodies, our communities, our cities, our nations, our globe.
This project was similar to the Journey and Mapping Project Identity done at Charles Edward Brooke School earlier that year. The images below show the self portrait line drawings done in the playground.
